Foodamentalists

Postby Lyn G » Mon Jan 11, 2010 7:56 pm

From GF board

…I make gluten free foods, all my products are made buy hand, all the produce i use are sourced in the local area, only ever use out door reared meat and since this time last year i have cut all my prices for one simple reason the more i sell the larger my orders to my suppliers are and the bigger the discount i get, so i have passed this saving on to my customers and this will continue to happen.

have a look for yourselves

The Foodamentalists have now launched a gluten, wheat dairy free bread roll.
These bread rolls are sold in packs of 4 & are very soft light and fluffy, they do not need to be refreshed, baked or toasted they can be frozen for up to 3 months & once defrosted be treated as if they were fresh.

I have now had some feedback about my new rolls from one of my customers.
Steve! Your rolls are AMAZING! I just received them in the post about 20 mins ago and I've scoffed one with butter and jam, absolutely gorgeous, best gluten-free thing I've had in 3 years since starting this damn diet. I can put an order through your website?

Thanks so much!

I have been telling everyone about the rolls, my mum is fed up listening to me (she is not gluten free so she doesn't know what its like haha). I passed one of the rolls (reluctantly) onto one of our customers who is gluten free so she could try

I have just received an email telling me that i have got through to the national finals of the National Cup Cake Week Competition & have to go to London on Tuesday with a dozen of my Summer Heat Chocolate & Beetroot Cupcake which are gluten free, wheat free free & dairy free.

The finals will be filmed by Food Network & i will be interviewed about my products & business, wouldn't it be great if a gluten free product could win the supreme champion in a contest that is full of normal cupcakes.

Will post again once i have got Tuesday out of the way.

Had a great day in London on Tuesday, lots of very impressive cupcakes, had a brief interview with food network tv.

Now have to wait until Friday 13th August to find out if i was a winner or not. the results will be published in the British baker magazine online as well.

Unfortunately we didn’t win the cupcake contest it was won by David Bennett from the http://www.sunshinebakeryleeds.co.uk/ The Sunshine Bakery, 182 Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, Leeds, LS7 4NZ Who produces cupcake that are not suitable for coeliacs or people with a wheat allergy.

We are in another competition next month & for this one we have created a whole new concept for cupcakes, been working very hard on this one but i am not even sure it will be allowed in to the competition as the judges might not see it as a cupcake, more info & photo's to come nearer the time.
